AN UNFORGETTABLE MEETING WITH MRS.GLADYS STAINES AND ESTHER STAINES , WIFE AND DAUGHTER OF CHRISTIAN MARTYR GRAHAM STAINES. FEBRUARY 1999

Graham Staines , an Australian Christian missionary in India serving leprosy patients, was burnt to death along with his two sons, Philip (aged 10) and Timothy (aged 6) by a gang of a Hindu fundamentalist group on 23rd January 1999 in Odisha. He left behind his wife Gladys and daughter Esther ( aged 13 ). The entire nation and the world was shocked at this brutal murder. Mrs.Gladys Staines became a shining testimony of the Love of God, when she said that she forgives those who killed her husband and her two sons.

Pastor Stanley Vasu spoke to Mrs.Gladys over the telephone and expressed his condolences. During the conversation Mrs.Gladys mentioned that her daughter Esther was passing through Chennai on her way to her school in Ooty. Pastor Stanley Vasu offered to meet Esther at the Chennai Railway Station and take her out for a time of prayer and Mrs. Gladys agreed. Accordingly Pastor Stanley Vasu met Esther and took her to meet Dr.DGS Dhinakaran and Dr.Paul Dhinakaran. They both welcomed her with great love and comforted her and prayed with great burden for the Lord to take care of her.

Later Mrs.Gladys also came to Chennai on her way to Ooty to meet her daughter. Pastor Stanley Vasu along with Bishop Ezra Sargunam and others received her at the airport and had a time of prayer with her for God's comfort. Bishop Ezra Sargunam expressed condolences to Mrs.Gladys Staines on behalf of the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Dr.M.Karunanidhi.

Mrs.Gladys Staines now lives in Austalia. Her daughter Esther completed her medical studies in Australia and is now a doctor. She got married to Reuben Scott in 2010 and they have 4 children.

FIVE GENERATIONS RARE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPH OF PASTOR STANLEY VASU

In Indian families the maternal uncle ( mother 's brother ) has a very special place in the family.

In 2005 Pastor Stanley Vasu had taken a rare and amazing family photograph involving five generations of maternal uncles in which the oldest maternal uncle had just celebrated his 100th Birthday .

The photograph from left to right with the respective ages at the time of taking the photograph begins with little Joshua ( 5 years old ) standing next to his maternal uncle Pastor Stanley Vasu ( 33 years old) who is sitting next to his maternal uncle Pastor Samuel ( 47 years old ) followed by Pastor Samuel's maternal uncle Mr.Sunderaj (88 years old ) and finally by Mr.Sunderaj's maternal uncle Mr.Alexander Samuel ( 100 years old) .

We rejoice with thanksgiving to the Lord for giving us this privilege to record this moment with five generations present.
